FAQs

Great Place to Work defines ERGs, or employee resource groups, as “voluntary, employee-led groups whose aim is to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with the organizations they serve. They are usually led and participated in by employees who share a characteristic, whether it's gender, ethnicity, religious affiliation, lifestyle, or interest. The groups exist to provide support and help in personal or career development and to create a safe space where employees can bring their whole selves to the table. Allies may also be invited to join the ERG to support their colleagues. Today, according to TopMBA, ERGs are found in 90% of Fortune 500 companies.”
Any company or organization with active ERGs, or any individual member or leader of an ERG is welcome and encouraged to join the movement. If your company is interested in starting ERGs but you’re not quite there yet, we’ve got space for you too, along with best practice resources to help you get your groups up and running on the road to impact.
ERGs are a critical resource in the effort to build more equitable and inclusive workplaces. At their best, ERGs provide crucial relationship-building and professional development opportunities for underrepresented employees, and serve as key resources for the company by bringing diverse perspectives, ideas, and innovations to the table. Unfortunately though, there’s not a lot of data or guidance out there currently to help companies or their ERG leaders build and maintain ERGs that drive impact. By joining this movement, you’ll be a part of a global effort to advance the collective knowledge and impact of ERGs through data, networking, and knowledge sharing.
There are many ways to get involved in this exciting effort. The most obvious is, of course, to become a member. We’ve got a variety of membership options to suit every company and budget, including options for individuals. In addition, we currently have advisory board roles available, as well as founding membership positions and even early bird discounts for those ready to seize this opportunity with both hands.
This effort is being developed by a partnership between Talent Dimensions and Workrowd. Talent Dimensions is a talent services firm whose mission is to propel organizations to new levels of performance through people. Workrowd is the all-in-one solution for managing employee engagement and company culture across both on-site and remote workers. By combining Talent Dimensions’ experience running the Association of ERGs and Councils, and Workrowd’s innovative HRTech platform, we’ve assembled a world-class digital experience to help propel every member’s ERGs into a new era of data-driven success.
